ACORN DIGITAL LEARNING
Achieve, Discover & Learn
The alternative education provider leading the way to success through online digital learning, providing unique educational support for exceptional circumstances
We provide flexible, cost effective solutions for students who currently find themselves without access to a school setting, as well as those who are unable to attend school for medical, mental health, anxiety or behavioural reasons. Our easily accessible education service is available to learners who are studying from home, school, in the community or any other setting. All the students need is a laptop or computer with a stable internet connection.
Welcome to Acorn Digital Learning. It is my great pleasure to invite you to spend a few minutes with us looking over this prospectus. In here, you’ll find lots of information to help you decide if we are right for the child in your care or a student attending your school, who needs an innovative, flexible, fresh and exciting route back to successful learning.
Acorn Digital Learning is leading the way for online schooling, embracing its unique status as an alternative provider for a diverse group of children and young people; specifically looked-after children, youngsters who may have been out of education for some time and others with additional learning needs or identified barriers to learning.
My name is Eileen Field, and I’m honoured to lead the amazing team of staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes delivering fun and exciting learning opportunities for our students, seamless admin support and responsive back up for our parents/ carers and commissioning clients and our talented IT team who keep all the technical cogs spinning.
I’ve been a head teacher for many years and delight in working with those “extra-ordinary” young people for whom “ordinary” school hasn’t been the perfect fit.
We are passionate about what we do, how we work with our students and transition them onwards; working personally with each one to unlock their interests, enthusiasms and future aspirations whilst navigating them through to successful completion of end of key-stage tests and examinations. For some, we continue to support their learning alongside colleagues during their return to mainstream or into other alternative provisions, whilst others we help move onwards to apprenticeships, college placements and the work place.
Our approach is “student centred” and “educational relationship” focused, being attachment aware and using trauma informed practices in everything we do – what works for the weakest child and young person in our school, works tenfold over for the brightest and more resilient child and young person.
We are building our learning community where every individual is valued for what they can offer. We recognise and nurture the unique nature of each of our students and together, we enable them to make choices, benefit from opportunities and develop the strength of character and resilience to overcome any barriers in their way.
I look forward to welcoming your student and working alongside you as we help our young people “build incredible futures by empowering them to be happy and make their way in the world”.
